Terms & Conditions

Last updated: June 28, 2026

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of Toast, the menu bar / system tray application for macOS and Windows and related website at toast.asit.space. By downloading, installing, or using Toast, you agree to these Terms.

About Toast

Toast is an independent developer tool that displays Vercel deployment status from your menu bar or system tray. Toast is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Vercel Inc. “Vercel” is a trademark of its respective owner.

Source code

Toast source code is published on GitHub. Use of the software is subject to any license terms stated in that repository.

Your responsibilities

Software updates

On macOS, Toast may check for updates automatically using Sparkle and the appcast feed hosted at toast.asit.space. On Windows, Toast may check for updates via Velopack against GitHub Releases. Updates are optional to install except where required for continued compatibility with Vercel’s API.

macOS distribution

Toast is distributed as a Developer ID signed and Apple-notarized macOS application. macOS should open it normally after installation. If you use an older download, you may need to right-click the app and choose Open once. The installer DMG and toast.asit.space/#install document these steps. You download and run the software at your own discretion and risk.

Windows distribution

Toast for Windows is distributed as a Setup.exe installer (Velopack) from GitHub Releases. When an Authenticode certificate is configured, builds are code-signed. Unsigned preview builds may show SmartScreen warnings; verify the SHA-256 checksum from SHA256SUMS.txt on the release page before installing.

Disclaimer of warranties

TOAST AND THE WEBSITE ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that Toast will be uninterrupted, error-free, accurate, or secure, or that deployment status will always reflect the latest information from Vercel.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE DEVELOPER OF TOAST WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, REVENUE, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE TOAST, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Third-party services

Toast relies on third-party services including Vercel’s API and GitHub Releases for downloads. Those services are operated by their respective providers and are subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party outages, API changes, or policy changes.

Termination

You may stop using Toast at any time by uninstalling the application and revoking your Vercel token if desired. We may modify or discontinue the website, update feed, or distribution of Toast at any time.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Toast after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The “Last updated” date above indicates when these Terms were last revised.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction of the developer, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protection laws apply in your location.

Questions about these Terms can be sent via GitHub Issues on the Toast repository.
